Colonial Construction | Men’s Health Week

This week is Men’s Health Week, an important opportunity to highlight the physical and mental health issues affecting men. It’s a reminder that looking after our health, seeking support when needed and checking in with those around us should never be seen as a sign of weakness. While Men’s Health Week helps shine a spotlight on these issues, for Colonial the message is one that extends far beyond a single week.

At Colonial, supporting health and wellbeing is part of our everyday culture. We support healthy lifestyles by investing in initiatives that encourage people to be active and look after their wellbeing. This includes sponsoring Old Northamptonians RFC, Northampton Old Scouts RFC and Billing United FC , working closely with the Lighthouse Charity and taking part in events such as the Three Peaks Challenge and Northampton Half Marathon. Later this week, we’ll also be involved in the Saints Touch Rugby Event, so keep an eye out!

Alongside this, we have three Mental Health First Aiders in the business to ensure support is always available when needed. For additional support, there are a number of organisations people can reach out to:

Samaritans – 116 123 (24/7)
Lighthouse – 0345 605 1956
NHS (111) – 111
Mind – Support and resources available online

This Men’s Health Week, we encourage everyone to take a moment to check in on their own wellbeing and support those around them.
