Work Experience | Harry Armstrong

Last week, we welcomed Harry to the team for a few days of work experience. During his time with us, Harry gained an insight into the different areas of our business, learned more about what we do, and had the opportunity to get involved in a range of activities.

Here’s a look at what Harry got up to during his time with us:

⭐ Monday: Spent the morning at our Courteenhall site before shadowing our Commercial Director and Apprentice Quantity Surveyor in the office, gaining experience interpreting construction drawings and completing basic quantity take-offs.

⭐ Tuesday: Spent the day shadowing our Senior Estimator, learning how construction drawings are interpreted, costs are estimated, and tenders are prepared, gaining valuable insight into the estimating process.

⭐ Wednesday: Spent the day at Castle Ashby Treatment Rooms, shadowing the carpentry team and seeing their craftsmanship firsthand.

It was fantastic to have Harry join us and we hope the experience gave him a valuable insight into the world of work, helped him develop new skills, and gave him a better understanding of the opportunities and careers available within our industry.
